Gaylord Holman, 92, of Geuda Springs, died on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 to be with the Lord. He died in his home surrounded by his family.  Gaylord Darwin Holman was born on March 28, 1924 the son of Verne Joseph and Bertha (Teter) Holman in rural Geuda Springs.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 18th at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Interment will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shelley Family Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A memorial fund is being established with the Hackney Community Baptist Church. Gaylord was a 1942 graduate of Winfield High School. He later served his country during World War II in the United States Army finishing his tour in Korea. Gaylord married Alice Louise Knollenberg, the love of his life and best friend, on October 25th, 1942. Except for his tour in the military, the couple made their home and raised their two daughters, Linda Holman Greever and Rebecca Holman Parker in the Rainbow Bend area.

The City of Wellington is currently taking applications for the position of Street Laborer.  Under supervision this position is responsible for  performing routine semi-skilled work in the construction and maintenance of the City street system and other work activities leading to the acquisition of equipment operator skills.
