Early morning fire at Theurer Storage and Rental on N. H is contained to 1 unit

A Theurer storage unit was on fire this morning. (Click to enlarge).

Sumner Newscow report — The Wellington Fire/EMS responded to a fire call at 1925 North H St. this morning at 6:23 a.m. to a storage unit owned by Larry Theurer.

According to a WFD press release, fire personnel arrived to find a building housing several storage units with smoke coming from one of those storage units.

Staff began to immediately apply water to the storage unit on fire. Overhead doors on the remaining units were opened to release smoke. The fire was contained to the fire unit, but there was smoke damage to the other units.

There were no injuries. The estimated property loss is $8,500 according to the report.

The cause of the fire at this time is still under investigation.

Mutual aid was provided by Fire District 9, Mayfield and Oxford. There were 12 Wellington fire/EMS personnel on the scene.

Wellington Police are assisting with the investigation.
