Karen Ethel Chew, age 76, lifelong Wellington resident passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at her home.  She was a homemaker.

Karen Ethel (Brown) Chew was born on October 2, 1940 in Wellington, KS to John Dee Brown and Eula (Jackson) Brown.

Karen married Robert G. Chew on May 2, 1959 in Wellington, KS.  He preceded her in death in 2003.

She enjoyed reading, quilting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was an active member of PTA, Girl Scouts, and Wellington Community Theater.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; and three sisters, Shirley Richardson, Barbara Benson, and Mary Martin.

Survivors include her three children, Michel Chew of Wellington; Rachel Moore and her husband David of Amarillo, TX; and Jeanne Chew of Wellington; brother, Jay Dee Brown of Wellington; five grandchildren, Dru Swann and her husband Joe, Andy Templeton and his wife Meghan, Cooper Templeton and Jessica Warren, Stefan Garcia, and Cameron George; four great grandchildren, Taylor, Luke, Evan and Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Graveside Services will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Sumner Memorial Gardens.

Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation.

Memorials have been established with Friends of the Library and Sumner County CASA Project.  Contributions can be left at the funeral home.

Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
