Legislative forum to be held Thursday, August 17

Sumner Newscow report — The public is invited to attend a legislative forum featuring the state representatives and senator from districts representing Sumner County.

The event, sponsored by Women for Kansas-Sumner County, will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 17 at the offices of the Sumner County Economic Development, 314 N. Washington, in Wellington.

The forum will feature Rep. Kyle Hoffman, Rep. Anita Judd-Jenkins, and Sen. Larry Alley. Each will speak about his or her experiences and decisions during this legislative session, and will also take questions from the audience.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to host this forum,” said Michelle Schiltz, a leader for the Women for Kansas chapter. “We hope everyone will attend this forum to gain a better idea of legislative decisions that affect them.”
