Paul R. Terrel, of Wichita, died Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita at the age of 53.

Paul was born the son of Thomas and Maxine (McConaha-Shaw) Terrel on Friday, January 14, 1966, in Wichita.

He was proud of his time spent as an EMT and volunteer Firefighter in Mulvane. Paul currently worked as a Chef in Wichita. Outside of work, he loved writing poetry and sharing it with his family, church and friends. Paul also enjoyed fishing along with playing and watching basketball. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. 

On March 16, 1991, JoAnn and Paul Terrel were united in marriage. She passed away in 2012. He was blessed to find love again and was recently engaged to Sandi Sammons. Paul will be missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his fiance, Sandi Sammons and her daughters: Samantha and Stefanie of Wichita; sister, Susan Kirby and her husband Cliff; sister, Deborah Hobbs; brother, Thomas Terrel; brother, Steven Terrel and his wife Teresa all of Mulvane; brother, David Terrel of Belle Plaine and brother, Michael Terrel of Winfield. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Maxine Terrel; wife, JoAnn Terrel and nephew, Steven A. Terrel.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2019, with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Funeral services for Paul will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Wellington Free Will Baptist Church, 802 E. 16th Street, Wellington.

Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Littleton Cemetery, Mulvane.
