Sumner Newscow report – The following is a press release from the Sumner Mental Health Center…


“We understand that this is a time of anxiety and uncertainty, and we are here for the residents of Sumner County.  Sumner Mental Health Center has been and continues to be open for all services with safety and screening precautions in place to protect our consumers.

As of this date, any person who calls to schedule an intake appointment will be offered the option of either a tele-health or an in-person appointment.  If you want to schedule an intake to begin services as a new consumer please call 620-326-7448, Ext 251 for information. If you are an existing consumer that wants to resume services, please call 620-326-7448, and you will be directed to your therapist, case manager, or other providers for information.  Some in-person services with safety precautions are being done both at our location, in schools, and in the community.  Our medication management department is, also, providing both telehealth and in-person services.  Call 620-326-7448 for information on the med department.

The lobby of our building at 1601 West 16th Street Wellington, remains closed, but you will be given instructions to call in when you arrive for services when you schedule an appointment.

Crisis services are available by telehealth or in person, as needed, during office hours by calling 620-326-7448 and informing staff of the need for emergency services.  After hours, weekend, and holiday 24/7 emergency services will continue, as usual, by calling 1-800-369-8222 to report a crisis or you can go to the nearest hospital emergency room;  directly to the emergency room at Via Christi 3600 East Harry St, Wichita, or to the Comcare Crisis Center 635 North Main, Wichita.
