Sumner Newscow Court Docket: Oct. 12 report

These are formal charges introduced into the Sumner County District Court system. The suspects listed in the complaint have not been tried by a judge or jury unless specified otherwise. All citizens are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

State of Kansas v. Ryan Olson — Case No: 17 CR 225.

Date of birth: 1997. Address: Conway Springs.

Date of alleged crime: August 20, 2017

Charges:

Count 1: Expired tag, unclassified misdemeanor.

Count 2: Driving While suspended, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 3: Possession marijuana, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 4: Possession drug paraphernalia, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 5, No insurance. Class B misdemeanor.

Case description:

Olson is accused of driving a 1994 Ford Escort on E. 4th St. in Belle Plaine with a tag displayed of an expiration date on April 2016. Once apprehended, Olson allegedly had a small amount of marijuana in a plastic container in the back seat of his car, a marijuana pipe and not having a valid driver’s license or insurance.

State of Kansas v. Emmanuel McAllister — Case No: 17 CR 228.

Charges:

Count 1: Criminal threat, level 9 felony.

Count 2: Criminal trespass, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 3: Aggravated battery, level 7 felony.

Case description:

McAllister is accused of going to a house of a woman to complain and confront her grandson over his driving skills. He allegedly told her if he didn’t slow down he would put the pipe he was carrying through the window of the car and into the boy. When he was asked to leave, he allegedly refused to do so and instead made more threats directed toward the grandson. Then after the grandson walked away, McAllister allegedly struck him in the back with a five-foot long metal pole leaving a mark across his back.

State of Kansas v. Ben Vasernab — Case No: 17 CR 230

Charges:

Count 1: Possession hallucinogenic drug, Class B misdemeanor.

Case description:

Vasernab is accused of having a small container containing THC concentrate inside the truck he was driving.

State of Kansas v. James Beltz — Case No: 17 CR 231

Charges:

Count 1: Fleeing or eluding a police officer, level 9 felony.

Count 2: Driving under the influence, 2nd or subsequent offense, felony.

Count 3: Driving while a habitual violator, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 4: Reckless driving, Class C misdemeanor.

Case description:

Beltz is accused of failing to stop and then engaging in a police pursuit. Upon being apprehended he allegedly was found to be under the influence of alcohol and any drugs to a degree that rendered him incapable of safely driving a vehicle. He had previous convictions in Sedgwick County on April 28, 2016; City of Mulvane, Oct. 28, 2014; and Sumner County District Court, Feb. 27, 2009.

State of Kansas v. Thornton Rayl — Case No: 17 CR 233

Date of alleged crime: August 24, 2017.

Charges:

Count 1: Possession methamphetamine with intent to distribute, level 3 drug felony.

Count 2: Possession drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute controlled substance, level 5 drug felony.

Count 4: Possession of drug paraphernalia to facilitate use of controlled substance, Class B misdemeanor.

Case description:

Rayl is accused of having a quantity of at least 1.0 grams but less than 3.5 grams of unpackaged methamphetamine in a red-pocket-sized container with a screw-on lid and four prepackaged ready for sale small baggies each containing about .2 grams inside a larger bag. He also allegedly possessed a red jar like pocket size container, small packaging for measured out methamphetamine packaged for sale and a metal spoon. Also, allegedly, he had marijuana in the side of a metal container in his bedroom dresser drawer. Allegedly, he also had syringes and metal smoking pipe.

Case description:

Collins, Jr. is accused of having a blue grinder and plastic bag in the center console of the vehicle which he admitted was his and an open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.

Date of alleged crime: August 22, 2017.

Count 1: Possession marijuana, level 5 drug felony.

Case description:

Aguirre is accused of having marijuana in a pill bottle in the seat of the truck he was driving as well as a marijuana pipe.

Aguirre is accused of having marijuana in a pill bottle in the seat of the truck he was driving as well as a marijuana pipe. She also allegedly had stolen a wedding ring, RCA tablet, other rings, phone charger and other items valued between $1,500 and $25,000

Date of alleged crime: August 25, 2017.

Charges:

Count 1: Assault, Class C misdemeanor.

Count 2: Criminal threat, level 9 felony.

Count 3: Violate protective order, Class A misdemeanor.

Case description:

Kling is accused of making an angrily punching motion with his hands as he lunged toward a female prompting her to flee from him and lock herself in the car. Allegedly, he also shook his fist at her reportedly and threatened that he was going to kill her. Kling also allegedly was knowingly violating a protection from stalking order which prohibited him from being at her place of employment.

Case description:

Greiner is accused during an argument with a girl who was walking away from him of pushing her back onto the couch.

Case description:

Skjerven is accused of swerving a 2004 Ford pickup on I-35 at milepost 3 and having a small amount of marijuana in his pickup. He allegedly had an odor of burnt marijuana about his person, and a green tongue with heat blisters. He allegedly then failed coordination tests like touching his finger to his nose, and standing on one leg.

State of Kansas v. Brady Pudden — Case No: 17 CR 242

Date of alleged crime: Sept. 4, 2017.

Charges:

Count 1: Domestic battery, Class B misdemeanor, 2nd offense.

Count 2: Criminal threat, level 9 felony.

Count 3: Speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone.

Count 4: Driving left of center, traffic infraction.

Count 5: Driving while revoked, Class A misdemeanor.

Count 6: DUI, Class B misdemeanor.

Case description:

Pudden is accused of driving home with a woman after arguing at a bar. Allegedly, when they got home in Caldwell, Pudden angrily stomped on her foot, knocked her to the floor and slapped her more than once. After the woman fled and hid in a near milo field, Pudden allegedly yelled he was going to kill her when he found her. Pudden then allegedly drove a Ford F-15 pickup on a public road at a speed of 74 mph where the maximum speed is 65, and driving the vehicle left of center. After being apprehended, he allegedly had a blood alcohol level of .08 or more as measured within three hours of driving said vehicle.

Case description:

Hyde is accused of having a physical fight with another individual resulting in a black eyes, bruises and abrasions to her face, neck, shoulder and arm. He then allegedly had marijuana wrapped in aluminum foil hidden inside his left sock.

Case description:

Casas is accused of slapping a male in the face, and yelling abusive language at him. She then told her 4-year-old daughter to yell abusive language at him as well. Then when she was taken to Sumner County Jail she had methamphetamine inside a glass pipe she had in her purse.

Case description:

McClure is accused of physically fighting with another individual which alarmed a crowd of people near 610 S. Washington in Wellington. Pending an investigation, McClure allegedly fled the scene when told to stop by a WPD officer. He allegedly had marijuana in a smoking device in his pocket when he was arrested.

Charges:

Count 1: Identity Fraud, level 8 felony.

Count 2: Making false information, level 8 felony.

Count 3: Possession drug paraphernalia, Class B misdemeanor.

Case description:

James is accused of falsely purporting a check to be an account belonging to another individual at the Kansas Star Casino in order to obtain cash. She also allegedly had a methamphetamine pipe in her purse.

Date of alleged crime: Sept. 5, 2017.

Charges:

Count 1: Possession drug paraphernalia, Class B misdemeanor.

Count 2: Possession of stimulant, level 5 drug felony.

Case description:

Haskins-Ybarra is accused of having a small amount of methamphetamine in a glass pipe.

Britain is accused of having methamphetamine on her person when she was booked into the Sumner County Jail on an arrest warrant.

Wolpa is accused of stealing a $22 neckless, by putting it in her pocket and leaving EZ Go, Inc.

Rainey is accused with not returning a 2017 Dodge Charge which he rented for one day on June 20, 2017 and failed to return on June 21, 2017 as scheduled. He later allegedly falsely claimed to a Kansas Highway Trooper that he was a different person and showed the officer a driver’s license of another person claiming it is his own.
