WHS Daily Bulletin: Prom deadlines are looming with big event this Saturday

•Varsity baseball and varsity softball at Winfield, 3 p.m. (makeup).


•JV golf at Hesston golf park.

•Baseball at Wellington High School.

•Softball at Wellington High School.


•Golf at Cheney.

•Tennis at Winfield.

•Track at Clearwater.

•C-team baseball at Wellington, 4 p.m.



Wednesday menu:

Breakfast: Sausage pancake on a stick.

Lunch: Cheeseburger, grilled chicken sandwich.

Today’s News:

*April 26th will be the 6th annual CTE Showcase from 6 to 8 p.m. This is a time when we celebrate the accomplishments of students involved with CTE classes and various pathways. There will be drawings for prizes, snacks prepared by the Culinary class, tour of the Tiny  House Built  in the Construction and Design pathway as well as various student projects on display in the commons, shop and classrooms. Mark your calendar and come support the CTE students of WHS!

*If you chose Leadership as a class on your enrollment card or are interested in being in Leadership class next year, pick up an application in the office. It will be due Friday, April 28th. There will be a collection box in the office. Applicants must be a student in good standing with no D’s or F’s and a GPA of at least 3.25.

* Congratulations to the Crusader Choir and Band for receiving an Excellent rating at State contest last Thursday!

*Sherry’s Army is looking for volunteers for the morning of April 22nd. If you are interested in helping, please talk to Mrs. Groom ASAP.

*Nominations for the Excellence in Teaching Award is due today. Pick up nomination forms in the office.

*Sophomores: The class rings will be delivered Friday, April 28th during the three lunches.

Prom info:

*Prom Picture Packets are due to Ms. Ford or Mrs. Lawless by Thursday April 20th .

*You can now sign-up teams for the after prom dodge ball tournament in the office. You better hurry, only 12 teams can sign up!

*Prom tickets will be for sale during lunch. Cost is $30 unless you sold 5 magazines your junior year. Out of town dates are $30 unless you earned your ticket, then they are $15. TOMORROW is the last day to purchase a ticket.

*You can sign-up out of town dates in the office. They must be a junior or senior and under 21 years of age.

*If you are interested in participating in the entertainment portion of prom, please pick up a prom entertainment application from Ms. Ford or Mrs. Lawless.

*Remember- You must be in attendance at school on Friday to attend prom on Saturday.

*Juniors and Seniors who are planning on attending Project Prom must stop by the office and complete a Project Prom Student Pledge Sheet. This form must be filled out and returned in order to attend. The forms are due today if you want a t-shirt at prom!


*If you would like to use a photo other than your school picture for the yearbook portrait, you must submit an appropriate replacement by Wednesday, April 26. Contact Ms. Ford for more details.

*Seniors- Just a reminder- Enrollment fee’s were due April 1. Your senior check-out sheet will not be signed until the fee’s are paid in full. Please see Mrs. Lawrence in the office if you have any questions.

*If you need extra graduation announcements, you may purchase them from Mrs. Yates in the counselors office. They are $1.50 each and the supply is limited.

*The caps and gowns will be delivered Friday, April 28 during the three lunches in the commons.

*Seniors will have a meeting on Wednesday, April 26 at 10 a.m. in the Auditorium to discuss class night and graduation ceremonies. Please try to make the meeting. If you cannot attend, you will need to pick up the information packet in the counselor’s office after April 26th.
