Sumner Newscow report — The streak is over!

Belle Plaine not only broke a 27-game losing streak that ran clear back to Oct. 6, 2023, but the Dragons beat Leon-Bluestem in a big way: 40-0!

Not only that, but the win puts Belle Plaine on the path to make the Class 1A playoffs. All the Dragons have to do is beat Sedgwick next week, which lost to Conway Springs 42-7.

There are some happy folks in Belle Plaine. We will provide more details of the game when they become available. If anyone took any action pictures, we would gladly upload them to this website with full photo credit at sumnernewscow@gmail.com.
