Andale girls basketball coach Ted Anderson dies unexpectedly after Thursday night game
Sumner Newscow report — Andale High School head girls basketball coach and middle school teacher Ted Anderson has died, the school announced on Twitter Friday morning.
Anderson had just coached Thursday night at the Wildcat Classic where Andale topped the Haven Wildcats 37-32 in the primetime slot and final game of the opening round of the tournament.

“It is with heavy heart for our community as we mourn the sudden passing of Girls Basketball Coach and MS teacher Ted Anderson. Please keep Ted’s family and basketball team in your thoughts and prayers,” Andale High School said in a Twitter post.
It is unclear on the cause of Anderson’s death.
There is no official word on if the Andale girls basketball team will continue to play in the Haven tournament semifinals against Garden Plain tonight at 7:30 p.m. The Indians were 7-2 on the year. Wellington, Clearwater and Andale were locked in a battle for the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Div. IV title.
Anderson had been with the Renwick school district for 13 years, overall for 30 years. He also taught at Valley Center for 17 years teaching middle school language arts. He spent 11 years as an assistant football coach and was also the head girls basketball coach.
In his biography on the Andale elementary website, Anderson wrote he had a passion for teaching, reading, basketball, and mentoring young people.
