Good news! KDHE has lifted algae bloom at Wellington Lake and all water activities are allowed
Sumner Newscow report — The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has advised that the latest test results for a hazardous algae bloom at Wellington Lake show decreased cell counts and have lifted the “warning” status.
Water activities, including swimming, are allowed until further notice.
Unfortunately, boating is still restricted to small hand-launched boats due to the low water level.
