WHS Debaters Rachel Ewing and Claire Norris are named Big Cheese Competitors of the Week
Rachel Ewing and Claire Norris.
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — We are going to do something different this week and award the Big Cheese Athlete of the week to a couple of competitors but not necessarily “athletes.”
This week’s Big Cheese Competitors of the Week goes to Claire Norris and Rachel Ewing, who placed third at the Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 4A State Debate at Wichita Collegiate.
Norris and Ewing went to the state meet that included 30 other state-qualifying 4A teams from across the state. The two-person debate team went 6-2, reaching the semifinals before losing to the defending champions
For their effort Norris and Ewing will each receive a large delicious Big Cheese Pizza at 324 N. Washington.
