12 miles of U.S. 160 in Harper County to be resurfaced.

Sumner Newscow report — A $1.59 million resurfacing on a 12-mile section of U.S. 160 in Harper County will begin soon.

The work, overseen by the Kansas Department of Transportation, will consist of a mill and overlay.

The section is from the east city limits of Harper east to the Sumner County line.

The project is expected to start on June 29 and to be completed around early August, depending on the weather.

Motorists should be prepared to stop for a pilot car that will lead traffic through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes.

The primary contractor for the $1,591,216 project is Cornejo & Sons, of Wichita.
