2016 Kansas Wheat Festival is 3 weeks away; Sponsorships are needed

— Kansas Wheat Festival is quickly approaching on July 6-10. The Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce still has several key sponsorships open. First come, first serve.
 Sponsorships can be split or shared.  

“We are so thrilled to have TECT Aerospace as the premier sponsor this year for the 116th Kansas Wheat Festival,” said Annarose White, Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. 

The following Kansas Wheat Festival events that have sponsorships and those that still need sponsorships: 

2016 Kansas Wheat Festival logoPicnic in the Park - Available (Featuring the Sumner Regional Medical Center, Health Fair)

Little Texas (Thursday Night Street Dance) –  Bank of Commerce

Friday Night – Kansas Wheat Parade – GKN Aerospace

The Mudbugs (Friday Night Street Dance) – BNSF Railroad 

Family Fun Day   – $1,500 – Available (Two $750 or Three $500).

Across the Pond (Saturday Night Street Dance) – $3,000.

Grand Prize – $2,000 – Kansas Star Casino.

Downtown Art Exhibit – The Chamber is also looking for donors for this event. Contact Skeet Sirmons at ssirmons@theurer.net if interested in volunteering or contributing financially.

Banners can be made:

The Chamber is also looking for businesses and community groups to also pay to advertise on concert fencing. A $50 donation is available if you already have a banner or $50, plus the cost of making the banner if you need another banner made. There are two companies that can help you make banners:  Sunflower Custom T’s in downtown Wellington and the high school during the school year. 

There are other contributing sponsorship opportunities available for $250 (like the D&L Train Rides).

2016 Medallion Hunt general

30th Aniversary of the Medallion Hunt – Registration is next Monday, June 20 through Thursday June 23 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. in front of Memorial Auditorium. For additional questions, contact Margaret Horton (mhorton802@gmail.com)

Don’t forget: Little Texas Concert is Thursday, July 7 at 9 p.m. Mark Bowling and Carter Green will be opening up for Little Texas at 8 p.m. There will be VIP seats available at $40 each.

Button Prizes – Please drop off any button prizes at the Chamber Office – We are specifically hoping for gift certificates.

The Chamber is also looking for a lot of Slow pitch softball teams.
