SATURDAY, JULY 9, 2016
7 a.m. – VFW Rise & Shine Breakfast- 424 E. Harvey- $6.00 Adults, $4.00 Children under 10 years old. All you can eat buffet.
7:30 a.m. – SSB Wheat Run – 6:30 a.m. Registration 5K race (starts at 7:30am) 1 mile (starts at 8:30am), Security State Bank Parking Lot (101 N Washington Ave), registration forms at and the Chamber. (Presented by Security State Bank).
9 a.m.- 3 p.m.- Larry Steckline KWLS Ag & Home Show at the Kansas Wheat Festival- Wellington High School (Inside and Outside). (Sponsored by KWLS Radio).
8 a.m. — Future’s Unlimited Misting Station- Heritage Park. (Provided by Futures Unlimited).
8 a.m. – 12 p.m. — Dog wash- Wellington Humane Society and Junior Humane Society is hosting a dog wash, located behind Panhandle Railroad Museum during the Wheat Festival Crafts/Fair and Car show includes bath, towel dry and nails. $ to benefit cause.
8 a.m.- 3 p.m. – Arts & Crafts Show- Sellers Park. Food and concessions will be available in park.
8 a.m.- 2 p.m. – 33rd Annual Wheat Festival Antique Rod & Classic Car Show– Sellers Park. (Presented by Koehn Motors and Wellington Auto & Machine).
8 a.m.- 3 p.m. – Antique Tractor and Stationary Engine Display– Wellington High School parking lot.
9 a.m. – Kansas Wheat Festival Baseball Tournament hosted by the Wellington Baseball League- Sellers Park, 12 teams from all over Kansas competing in this 16-18 year old tournament.
9 a.m. – 40th Annual Slowpitch Softball Tournament- Rock Island Fields, Pre-registration is required, Information and registration forms available at the Chamber.
9 a.m. – Dog Wash – Sellers Park (Presented by Wellington Humane Society Serving Sumner County).
9 a.m.- 3 p.m. – Family Fun Day- Sellers Park. Activities for children, agricultural education, etc. (Sponsored by Triumph Accessory Services, Strickland Towing, KanOkla Networks).
10 a.m.- 7 p.m. – Downtown Art Exhibit Open– 104 N Washington Ave (Sponsored by Wellington Community Arts Network).
10:00 a.m. – Church Ignited Inflatables and Wellington’s Largest Slip and Slide for Kids-Sellers Park, Bring a swim suit or clothes that can get wet! FREE.
10 a.m.- D&L Train Rides– Downtown Wellington. (Sponsored by Cooper Accounting, Sumner Communications, PFCU, Theurer Auction & Realty, Church of Christ).
10 a.m. –3 p.m. Wheat Capital Quilt Show – First United Methodist Church 202 W. Harvey Ave. (Sponsored by Wheat Capital Quilt Society).
11:00 a.m. – Buffalo Burgers at the VFW– 424 E. Harvey, Come support this great Veteran organization by eating a healthy Buffalo Burger in air conditioned comfort! $ Cost.
Noon – Kid’s Pedal Power Tractor Pull– Sellers Park, Registration at 11am, Pull starts at Noon. (Sponsored by KLEY-KWME, Eagle Exteriors, Automart).
12:30 p.m. – The Boys of the Fort – County/Gospel Quartet. Wellington High School Commons Room. Played with Mel Tillis, TG Sheppard, Jimmy Fortune of the Sattler Brothers.(Sponsored by KWLS Radio).
2 p.m. – Ping Pong Tournament Wellington Recreation Commission. Use South Entrance. (Sponsored by Sumner County Young Professionals).
2 p.m. – Wellington Regent Theater – Finding Dory $
3 p.m. – Gospel Sing – First Baptist Church. Refreshments provided after performance. Choir groups register in advance. 201 W. Lincoln Ave. Event goes till 5:30 p.m. (Hosted by Hillside Baptist Church and First Baptist Church).
4 p.m. – Sumner County Farm Bureau – Candidate Forum Anyone running from public office is invited. Each candidate gets 5 minutes. Event is about 2 hours long. Raymond Frye 320 N Jefferson Ave; Wellington, Kansas 67152 (Sponsored by Sumner County Farm Bureau)
5 – 8 p.m. – Veteran’s Room Open for Tours Inside North Door of Memorial Auditorium. Come early before a street dance. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. (Sponsored by Memorial Auditorium Advisory Board).
6 p.m. – Ottaway Carnival– $23.00 wristband special from 6-10 p.m.
6 p.m. – Funcycles- Downtown Wellington, 7th Street in front of Police Station,$.
6 p.m. – Esteemed Townsfolk Spelling Bee – Come out to the first ever spelling bee hosted in honor of the Wellington Public Library’s 100th birthday and watch famous local citizens compete to see who is the best speller in town! For a small donation of $5 you can choose a word and contestant to spell the word! (Wellington Public Library).
7 p.m. – Food Bank – Gun Raffle Auctioneering by Theurer Auction & Realty. All proceeds go to the Wellington Food Bank.
7 p.m. – Cruising Down Main street, Anyone is welcome to cruise in your vehicle from Washington & 3rd Street. Benefit Cruise. There will be a $5 donation fee used for the 50/50 raffle. Half will benefit the Bryce Day Memorial Foundation. Goes till 9 p.m.
7 p.m. – Wellington Regent Theater – Finding Dory $
9 p.m. – Street Dance: Across the Pond – Main Stage on Washington St, in front of Memorial Auditorium facing South, Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy. Must wear Official Festival Button (Sponsored by Impact Bank)

9 a.m. – Kansas Wheat Festival Baseball Tournament hosted by the Wellington Baseball League- Seller’s Park, 12 teams from all over Kansas competing in this 16-18 year old tournament.
9 a.m. – Co-Ed Sand Volleyball Tournament- McKinley Park. (Sponsored by Security First Title)
10 a.m. – 40th Annual Softball Tournament (If there are enough teams to keep playing)–Rock Island fields.
1 p.m.- 4 p.m. Downtown Art Exhibit Open– 104 N Washington Ave (Sponsored by Wellington Community Arts Network).
2 p.m. – Wellington Regent Theater – Finding Dory $
5 p.m.- 7 p.m. Kansas Wheat Festival Free Family Swim– Wellington Family Aquatic Center, 1101 W. Harvey.
