Wheat Rifle Winner

Dean Prindle of Wellington had the winning ticket — drawn from a pool of about 1700 tickets. He is the new owner of the Henry Repeating Firearms 45-70 caliber rifle, serial number KWF003. He purchased his winning ticket from Smoker’s Choice. He and his wife purchased a 5-pack book of tickets.

Total sales from the raffle resulted in $8,150 that will be donated to the Wellington Food Bank according to raffle organizer John Munro.  He has several people to thank:

I wish to thank all of our sponsors for helping out on this years raffle: including Smoker’s Choice, Wellington Wheel Alignment and Brakes, Carroll Glass/Pig Shack BBQ, Impact Bank, both Wellington and Caldwell, Bank of Commerce, Trigger Guard Shooting Range, Gold Corner, Vince Erwin Glass, KT Kustoms, Stock Exchange Bank-Caldwell, Mayfield Grocery and Locker, Wellington Animal Clinic, Kan-Okla and Sumner Communications.  Non Vendors are Wal-Mart, Vince Wetta and Terry Nunemaker.  In addition, special thanks goes out to Scott Funderburk and John Cook for designing and building the display base for the rifle, and to Brian Strange, of Huckleberry’s for his excellent job of furnishing and hand engraving the two brass plaques for the display.

And I can’t forget to thank Dena Martens, of Wheatland Services, who handles all our design work and takes care of printing our posters and tickets. Special thanks also goes out to our media sponsors who helped to publicize and get the word out about the raffle including Sumner Newscow, Sumner Communications, Wellington Daily News, Rocking M Radio and Caldwell Messenger.  Jane Cole and Mandy Struble were a great help this year, handling a large chunk of the ticket sales. Annarose White, Wanda Kelsey and Tessa Stewart of the Chamber of Commerce, who support us as partners and who help to promote our venture, great job on everything you’ve done for us.  And finally my greatest thanks goes out to everyone of you who bought tickets to the raffle.

Dean Prindle is winner of the Wellington Food Bank raffle rifle.
