by James Jordan, Sumner Newscow — The following is a roundup of Sumner County games…

Conway Springs 57, Stanton County 0
Conway Springs kept rolling Friday with an easy 57-0 win over Stanton County. Sedgwick also rolled to a relatively easy win. Both teams are undefeated in district play and meet this coming week at Sedgwick.
Conway Springs led 51-0 at halftime. A telling stat showed up in the running game where Conway Springs averaged 10 yards per rush, and Stanton County averaged one yard per rush.
Conway Springs had 359 yards on the ground, and Stanton County had 51. The Cardinals completed only one pass and that was for a touchdown.
Jonathan Wright ran six times for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Heath Hilger ran seven times for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Cole Schulte had three carries for 29 yards and two touchdowns. Kutter barns had one touchdown on four carries for 33 yards. Wright was on the receiving end of the one pass the Cardinals completed from 23 yards out by Hilger.
Clifton-Clyde 64, Argonia-Attica 16
Argonia-Attica was supposed to play Medicine Lodge this weekend. But, you know, it is the year of the COVID. So A&A scheduled Clifton-Clyde a team that is 6-1 and ranked No. 4 by KPreps.com.
It was a thrashing. Titan Xander Newberry passed for 242 yards with two touchdowns – both to Noah Phillips. Phillips had a total of five receptions for 167 yards.
Argonia-Attica had 14 yards of rushing, with Phillips getting 15 (the other backs combined for -1 yards).
This game did not count toward the district standings or playoff positioning. The Titans are still a playoff-bound team and will finish the regular season at winless Fairfield this weekend.
Central Burden 66, Oxford 20
A tough loss for Oxford after beating Udall by 20 points the week before. Central scored early and often to pull away.
Garden Plain 55, Belle Plaine 24
Belle Plaine’s program has progressed but not enough to compete with Garden Plain. Dragons fall to 2-2 in district and 3-4 overall.
