by Shane Farley, Newscow.net — A South Haven man was arrested Tuesday after another motorist reported the man pointed a gun at them in an alleged road rage incident near Strother Field.
19-year-old Zachariah Benjamin Price Pounds, was booked into the Cowley County Jail on a count of aggravated assault. Bond was set at $20,000, Pounds posted that bond and was released.
Just before 11 a.m., sheriff’s deputies were sent to a location in the 22000 block of U.S. 77 highway for the report of a person driving southbound out of Strother Field who called to say they had a gun pointed at them by another driver.
A suspect vehicle was located and stopped.
Pounds, according to a written report, denied having a firearm. After consent to search was received, a firearm was found under the backseat.
The suspect then stated the caller had cut them off at Strother Field and he thought the caller had flipped him off. That is when Pounds is said to have showed the caller the gun.
Pounds denied pointing it at anyone.
He was then arrested and taken to jail.
