Work on K-49 Highway North of Caldwell to resume
Submitted to Sumner Newscow — Beginning the week of June 27, the Kansas Department of Transportation will resume construction on K-49 Highway in Sumner County to begin the chip seal process. This surface recycle and overlay project on K-49 Highway starts at the US-81/K-49 Intersection in the City of Caldwell to US-160/K-49 Intersection.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane and will be controlled by flagmen and pilot car during the daytime. Traffic slowdown with delays should be expected with delays of up to 15 minutes. All loads over 12′ of total width should seek alternative routes. This project is scheduled to be completed in August, depending on delays caused by adverse weather conditions.
