Ralph Louis Pingry died on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Via Christ-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita at the age of 64.

Ralph was born the son of Claude Darius and Dora Melissa (Wyatt) Pingry on January 3, 1952 in Arkansas City, Kansas. He and Barbara Ann Barnes were married on October 4, 1975 in Arkansas City. They raised their two sons, Mac and Ralph, in Wellington, Kansas. After living the country life in Oxford, Kansas for 11 years, they chose to move back to Wellington in 2013.

He spent most of his younger years in Arkansas City until moving to Globe, Arizona where he graduated from high school. Ralph held various jobs: construction work, semi truck driver, hauling for Budweiser, Cessna Aircraft for 3 years and Boeing Aircraft for 22 years as an aircraft mechanic, retiring in 2007. He loved fishing and hunting, pitching softball and hitting home runs, bowling, golfing and spending time with his family and good friends. Ralph was a member of the VFW in Wellington. 

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Barbara Ann Pingry; two sons, Mac Louis and Ralph Lee Pingry both of Wellington, Kansas; sister, Claudet Scott of Arkansas City, Kansas and grandchildren: Amaya, Makenna, Jaydon, Aaron and Ashlyn Pingry and Marissa Mayo.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Curtis and Fred Pingry.

A celebration of Ralph’s life will begin at 1 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the VFW Hall in Wellington, Kansas. Family and friends are invited together to share memories and stories over food and refreshments. 

A memorial has been established in his memory to the American Diabetes Association. Contributions can be mailed or left at the funeral home.
