August 27 is the date for the South Haven political forum
Sumner Newscow report — A political forum involving area candidates for Kansas House and Senate seats will take place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27 at the South Haven Friendship Meals building on Main Street.
Invited candidates include Anita Judd-Jenkins and Michelle Schiltz, who are vying for state representative for District 80 and Larry Alley and Don Shimkus, who are running for State Senate District 32 will be in attendance.
The event, sponsored by the South Haven FFA Alumni Association, is being held in conjunction with the South Haven Fair activities. The association was formed this year to support the local FFA chapter and has about 40 members.
“This will be a great opportunity for everyone to not only meet the candidates, but to become better informed on the issues before the November election,†said James Ryan, president of the association.
