A Night at the Museum: Living history planned Saturday at Chisholm Trail Museum
By Amber Countryman, Sumner Newscow — The Chisholm Trail Museum will “come alive” this weekend during the A Night at the Museum: Living History event Saturday, Nov. 23, from 4 to 7 p.m.
A group of actors will portray some historical and colorful characters from Wellington’s past.
“In 2021, we held the Ghosts of Wellington’s past in honor of Wellington’s 150-year anniversary,” said Jim Bales, Chisholm Trail Museum Director. “We had eight actors portray some of Wellington’s historic figures. It went over well, and many people have asked us to do it again.”
This event is free and open to the public so everyone can learn more about Wellington’s history.
“Museum members will be portraying characters consisting of a couple of pioneers that settled in Wellington, including a favorite Sumner County Sheriff, Wellington artist, a Wellington writer, and more,” Bales said.
This is a free event, but donations are encouraged.
