According to latest drought monitor, most Sumner County is still in a drought, just not as much
Sumner Newscow report — Well, it is getting better.
The good folks who produce the U.S. Drought Monitor have given Sumner County various stages of drought in this week’s map released today (Thursday). The data was collected through Tuesday at 8 a.m.
Once in deep red, Sumner County has moved to either extreme drought (red) to abnormally dry (yellow).
It depends on what part of the county you are in. If you are in the southwest corner Caldwell area, you are almost back to normal. The farther northeast you go in the county, the drier the conditions. The conditions are extreme drought in the Mulvane area.
