The Wellington tennis at Augusta

The Crusader varsity tennis team traveled to Augusta Tuesday.

“Not a bad day for the team,” said Allen Keller, Wellington head tennis coach. “Everyone is improving.”

Both singles entries Brock Edwards and Will Long made it to the finals before losing and bringing home second place medals.

“But considering we finished fourth as a team this year – finishing behind schools like El Dorado and Circle- when we finished first last year, shows how far we’ve dropped in our ability to compete,” Keller said. “Everyone finished about where we expected.”

Edwards was seeded third and finished second. Long was seeded first and finished second. Jaden Adams/ Reece Langford were seeded fifth and finished fourth. Jared Oathout/ James Hinman were seeded fifth and finished fifth.

“Everyone is improving,” Keller said.
