Alan Eugene Roberts, 90, of Newton, died Oct. 27, 2016 at Brookdale East Assisted Living in Wichita.  He was born March 29, 1926 near Corbin, Kansas to Frederick William Roberts and Bertha Anna (Mock) Roberts.  Alan graduated from Caldwell in 1944.  Alan farmed north of Caldwell for several years and later farmed north of Dodge City.

Alan was very proud of his father’s accomplishments of playing and coaching football at the University of Oklahoma at Norman, around 1899 to 1902.  Fred Roberts was one of four inductees into the Wellington High School “Wall of Recognition” in 2012.

Alan married Magdalene Larson on Aug. 25, 1970, and they celebrated their 46th anniversary this year.  They enjoyed traveling across the United States and in foreign countries.

Alan was proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers Harold, Warren, and Frederick and his sister Lucille Frey.  Alan is survived by his wife, Magdalene and numerous nieces and nephews.  A celebration of his life was held Nov. 11, 2016 at Brookdale East.  Burial was in Lincoln, Neb.
