Angel Tree, Operation Holiday, assists families in need during Christmas
by Amber Countryman, Sumner Newscow — Everyone struggles in life, and families especially struggle during the Christmas season. The Angel Tree and Operation Holiday are here to help.
Families who are signed up for the Angel Tree will receive a phone call from the Wellington Food Bank once their gifts are ready to pick up. The deadline has passed for families to sign up.
Operation Holiday benefits children ages birth through 15 in Sumner County whose families face hardships during Christmas. Those wishing to apply at Jane Cole’s Farmer’s Insurance Office, 118 E. Harvey, during regular business hours, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., to apply is Dec. 12 at noon.
Families will be contacted as soon as their gifts are ready for pick up. For information, call Jane Cole at 326-5500.
Both organizations accept unwrapped gifts and monetary donations to assist Sumner County families.
Each application has a space to write what the child wants for Christmas, age, and clothing size. You may only sign up with one organization.
Merry Christmas!
