Belle Plaine falls; Oxford wins; Caldwell bulldozes; and other area scores

Garden Plain 56 Belle Plaine 20 — The Owls grabbed a 14-0 and then added three touchdowns in the second quarter on big plays to take a 35-0 lead into the half.

The Dragons fell behind 42-0 but would score three touchdowns in the fourth. For the game, Belle Plaine was not too far behind Garden Plain statistically. The Dragons had 310 yards of offense to the Owls 396.

Caldwell 74 Burrton 0 — This game was over practically before the Burrton team could get off the bus.

Caldwell led 36-0 at the end of the first quarter and added 38 in the second quarter for the easy win.

Burrton had a -2 yards in total offense. Caldwell had 310 yards.

Oxford 44 Udall 20

Oxford beat Udall for the first time ever in eight-man football and more importantly went 1-0 in district play. The Wildcats opened a 14-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, and led 28-8 at the half.
