Belle Plaine 43 Bluestem 0 

The Dragons hadn’t scored a touchdown in the first four games. On Friday it scored 43.

Belle Plaine opened with a safety and then scored a touchdown on a Colby Barton 16-yard touchdown throw to Johnny Miller. Barton then threw his second touchdown pass to Sonny Lipton to make it 16-0. He then threw a 29-yarder to Miller. Barton then closed out the first half with his fourth touchdown pass of the game – this one for 54 yards to Trenton Pierson.

Belle Plaine added two more touchdowns in the second half to close out the perfect evening.

Argonia-Attica 60 Pretty Prairie 12

A&A improved to 4-1 with a quick disposing of Pretty Prairie. The two teams were both 3-1 going in but that was where the similarities end.

The Titans led 22-0 at the end of the first quarter and then outscored Pretty Prairie 38-12 in the second to coast to the easy win.

Xander Newberry was a perfect 11-of-11 for 328 yards with six touchdown throws. He also rushed for 44 yards on seven carries. Adam Blanchat led the team in tackles with 10. The stats can be found here.

Caldwell 51 Stafford 14

Caldwell avenged last year’s loss to Stafford in a big way to improve to 5-0.

The Bluejays opened with an 8-0 first-quarter lead when Keiondre Smith connected with Dawson Bristor for a 30-yard touchdown.

The two would score again early in the second – this one for 34 and it was 14-0.

Stafford got on the board with a 45-yard run to make 14-6.  Smith ran for 57 yards to make it 22-6 at the half.

Caldwell took complete control in the third with three touchdowns to lead 43-7. Smith threw an 8-yard TD to Dawson Bristor and then ran in from the 1 and 10.

Smith was 4-of-7 for 95 yards passing and three touchdowns to go with his 197 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Bristor had four receptions for 95 yards and three touchdowns.

Conway Springs 55 Wichita Independent 0

The Cardinals dominated, leading 17-0 at the end of the first quarter, and 45-0 at the half en route to victory.

Conway Springs had 449 yards in total offense. There were nine Conway Springs rushers. The full stats can be found here.
