Bernard ‘Butch’ Rausch, 73, Wellington: May 24, 1949 – June 1, 2022
Bernard “Butch” Rausch, of Wellington, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Derby Health and Rehab in Derby at the age of 73. He was born the son of Oscar and Marie (Shields) Rausch on Tuesday, May 24, 1949 in Wellington. Following his high school graduation, Butch joined the United States Air Force. Not long after joining, he received word that his father passed away and Butch was honorably discharged to return home and operate the family farm.
Butch was a proud farmer and natural entrepreneur. He started both Rausch Seed and Feed and Rausch Tire and Equipment with his brother Leonard while also continuing the family farm. He knew no strangers as he was a very generous person who enjoyed teaching, sharing and giving to others. His knowledge and presence will be missed as he took pride in the love he had for his children and family.
Survivors include his son, Mark Rausch and wife Michelle of Wellington; daughter, Felicia Rausch of Euless, Texas; daughter, Allison Rausch of St. Petersburg, Florida; daughter, Elaine Acosta and husband Tomas of Haysville, grandchildren: Jace, Blake, Alixana, Isaiah, Sophia and Aria, great-grandchildren: Paesli, Brantli and Huxsli, siblings: Raymond Rausch, Theresa Lucas, Wilford “Bill” Rausch, Leonard Rausch, Mary Richmond, Tom Rausch, Donna Van Pelt, Jerry Rausch, Linda Ferguson and their spouses along with numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Marie Rausch and his daughter, Heather Rausch.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 1 to 5 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2022.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2022, at St. Anthony St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington.
Funeral Mass for Butch begins at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 10, 2022, at St. Anthony St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens, Wellington.
Memorial contributions can be given in his name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
