Billie Jo Maness

Billie Jo Maness, 78, died Thursday (June 22, 2023) at her home in Wellington surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 20, 1944, in Joplin, Missouri, the daughter of Calvin and Beatrice Maness. Billie Jo was raised in Branson, Missouri, where she had her own radio show as a singer.

Eventually, she moved to Chicago and eventually to California where she lived for several years until moving to Wellington in 2008. Billie Jo enjoyed doing oil painting. She had the voice of an angel and a heart of gold.

She is survived by her children Frank, Kathleen, Lawrence, and Marlene; along with 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Billie Jo is preceded in death by her parents; son William Joseph Lilly; two sisters Francis and Barbara.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to the Wellington Humane Society.

A family celebration of her life will be held later.
