Brayden Kunz has been selected as a National Football Foundation Sunflower Chapter athlete

Sumner Newscow report —  Brayden Kunz, a Conway Springs senior, has been selected as the National Football Foundation – Sunflower Chapter Scholar-Athlete.

Twelve Kansas high school senior football players were selected by the Coach Bill Snyder Family/Sunflower Chapter of the National Football Foundation as a 2023-24 scholar-athletes due to their performance on the field.

In addition to being one of the twelve selected in the state of Kansas, Brayden was selected as the overall representative of the state of Kansas. His honor will be included in the National Football Foundation publication to be shared across the United States.

Kunz played linebacker/running back for Conway Springs, helping lead it to a state championship for 2023-24 in November. He is a two time, top 33 selection by several sources – including a Class 1A defensive player of the year as a junior and an offensive player of the year as a senior. He is also a Kansas Shrine Bowl selection in 2024.

Kuntz was also a state qualifier for the triple jump in track.

He has signed to play at Northwest Missouri State and will major in Applied Health Sciences. Kuntz has also participated in the Mentor Program for grade schools, volunteered for a Blood Drive, and been a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. He is academically ranked first in his class and recorded a 28 on his ACT.

The NFF serves as the pulse of a nationwide effort to encourage leadership, sportsmanship, and academic excellence among America’s young football players. Collectively, they host more than 300 events each year, reaching more than 500,000 football players at 5,000 high schools.
