Caldwell girls are eliminated from first round of state tournament over Otis-Bison
Sumner Newscow report — The Caldwell girls found a bad time to turn ice cold from the field.
Caldwell girls were eliminated from the Class 1A Division II state tournament in Dodge City losing to Otis-Bison 53-46 Wednesday afternoon.
The Cougars would outscore the Bluejays 5-2 in the final minute after Caldwell narrowed the margin to two on a Hanna Stuewe steal and layup at the 1:29 mark.
The wheels literally fell off the Caldwell bandwagon thereafter as Stuewe fouled out and the Bluejays couldn’t get a shot to fall thereafter.Â
Caldwell had a horrible shooting night going 19.6 percent from the field making just 13 out of 66. The Bluejays were worse beyond the arch going 3 of 22 for 13.6 percent.
Stuewe finished the day with 14 points.
