Campbells take over ownership of local Sears store; add Sanda HVAC service
by Amber Schmitz, Sumner Newscow — Aaron and Shayna Campbell took over ownership of the local Sears store this past Father’s Day, June 17.
Originally from the Great Bend area, the Campbells moved to Wellington with their four children, Aryn, 9; Ryan, 6; Devyn, 4; and Jadyn, 2 1/2, from a tiny town called Albert, Kan., with a population of 170.
“We moved here to better ourselves with more work opportunities,” Shayna Campbell said.
The couple plans to slowly make improvements to the store, but hours and days open will remain the same: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“I have a long list of things to do, and as soon as we mark one thing off, we’ve added three more tasks,” Campbell said.
Besides taking over the Sears store, the couple also owns a Sanda HVAC business.
“We plan to work both businesses side by side to offer more than Sears was able to offer before,” Campbell said. “For example, installation of water heaters, softener systems, gas ranges, etc. We are working out ways to improve our delivery system, which consists of delivering only one day a week, and many other changes in the works. We are excited for this venture!”
