Charlene Mannon, 77, Burden: Nov. 27, 1938 – Sept. 4, 2016
Charlene M. Mannon died Sunday, September 4, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Burden, at the age of 77.
Charlene was born the daughter of Dale and Luella (Alcorn) Millen on Sunday, November 27, 1938 in Mulvane.
Charlene enjoyed her free time by quilting, sewing, doing yard work and decorating cakes. She loved any time spent with her grandchildren and looked forward to attending their various school functions. Charlene was an Avon Lady and sold their products for many years. In fact, she sold so much perfume that she was awarded a trip to the Bahamas. Charlene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Burden, Kansas and belonged to the church quilting group. She will be missed by all that knew her.Â
Survivors include her daughters: Michele Mannon and Christie Weber (Leonard) all of Burden; sister, Beverly Jenkins (Ronnie) of Winfield; brother, Gary Millen of Colorado, grandchildren: Jason Mannon (Jody), Nicholas Bowman (Kaycie) all of Burden, Levi Weber (Brittney) of Arkansas City, Amanda Weber, Shannon Mannon and Caitlin Mannon all of Burden, great-grandchildren: Jaydan Mannon, Kysen Mannon, Abbi Bowman, Sam Bowman, Greg, Emily, Ricki and Averi Hilario along with many nieces and nephews. Â
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Iverson and daughter, Tina Mannon.Â
Memorial services for Charlene will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Burden, Kansas.Â
A memorial fund has been established in her loving memory to the Alzheimer’s Association Central and Western Kansas. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
