Cheryl Gressel

Cheryl Ann (Rush) Gressel died on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Wellington Health and Rehab in Wellington at the age of 73.

She was born the daughter of Thomas and Annabelle (Hall) Rush on July 9, 1948, in Great Bend. Her parents preceded her in death. As a young woman, Cheryl relocated to Colorado to live near her sister. She later made a permanent move back to Kansas in the 1980s. Although Cheryl’s life wasn’t always easy, she was a happy person with a beautiful smile. 

Surviving family members include her son, Jerry Laue of Texas; daughter, Lesa Brown of Florida, several grandchildren, and a sister, Claire Ann Nelson of Colorado. Cheryl had a son at a young age whom she gave up for adoption. She never stopped loving him. His name was Larry Dean Rush. She is also survived by a large extended family.

Graveside services for Cheryl will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Sumner Memorial Gardens, Wellington. There is no viewing as cremation has taken place.
