City of Wellington is asking for volunteer appointments for various boards
Submitted to Sumner Newscow — The governing body of the city of Wellington is asking that anyone interested in being considered for appointment for any of the board or commission positions that expire in April 2016 submit an Application for City Boards/Commissions by December 31, 2015, to the City Clerk’s Office. The application form is available in the City Clerk’s Office or is available on the City’s website, www.cityofwellington.net, on the Board and Commissions page. Additional information on the Boards/Commissions is also available on the website.
The City Boards/Commissions that have member terms expiring April 30, 2016 are the following:
Airport Advisory Board – two positions, one must reside in city and one may reside outside the city.
Board of Zoning Appeals – two positions, both must reside in the city.
Combined Trade Board – licensed architect or engineer and two residents at-large (residents must be in the city).
Health Care Authority Board – two positions, one must reside in city and one may reside outside the city.
Housing Authority Commission – one position, must reside in the city.
Library Board – two positions, both must reside in the city.
Memorial Auditorium Board – two positions, one must reside in city and one may reside in USD 353 area.
Planning Commission – two positions, one must reside in the city, one must be outside city, but in 3-mile zoning area of city.
The appointment to any Board/Commission position is for a four-year term and the term will begin May 1, 2016.
