City of Wellington suggests flushing procedures after boiling water advisory lifted
Sumner Newscow report — The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has rescinded the boil advisory for the City of Wellington. Laboratory testing performed by KDHE indicated no evidence of bacteriological or parasitic contamination, and the conditions that placed the system at risk of contamination were deemed by KDHE officials to be resolved.
City staff have been flushing throughout the system to ensure that the water meets State standards. The City and KDHE have received questions from residents about flushing their water systems. While not required, flushing fixtures in your home or business can be performed as a precautionary measure. KDHE has provided the attached flushing procedures that may be used in homes and businesses. Copies of the guidelines are also available at the City of Wellington’s website, www.cityofwellington.net.
