City of Wellington will be holding an active shooter disaster drill at administrative office Thursday
Sumner Newscow report — The Wellington City Administrative Offices and the utility billing office at 317 S. Washington will be closed for business on Thursday, Nov. 8 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The City will be conducting a disaster drill of an active shooter incident at the City Administration Building.
This will be a full functional exercise with emergency response by law enforcement, Fire/EMS and other emergency services. Sumner Regional Medical Center will also be participating in the exercise. Access to the City Administration building will be restricted during this time.
Please remember this is an exercise . The City conducts a full functional exercise every couple of years. The exercise provides training opportunities for all the agencies involved and helps to ensure the readiness of all first responders and agencies in the event a disaster occurs.
