by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — This week’s Big Cheese Athletes of the Week go to the Conway Springs offensive line. The five linemen are center – Jacob Osner, guard – Blake Pauly, guard – Gunner Williams, tackle – Ben Ward, and tackle – Russell Chitwood.
The offensive line was outstanding in Conway Springs’s 35-31 victory over Plainville in the regional round of the playoffs last Thursday. Conway Springs rushed for 426 yards, with Brayden Kunz getting 319 yards in particular. The Cardinal rushing attack was effective due to the large holes made by the offensive line.
For their effort, the five linemen each receive a large delicious Big Cheese Pizza at 324 N. Washington.
