by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — If you are looking for a jumpstart to your holiday shopping season, there is a no better way to start than the 10th annual Countdown to Christmas show.

The craft show is being held at Wellington High School with over 80 crafters in attendance.

Organized by local resident Paula Mortimer, it started in the basement of a local church with about 10 crafters and is now bursting at the seams.

“This event brings so much traffic into Wellington,” Mortimer said. “I am just pleased as punch to bring such a large event into our community.”

Mortimer estimates an average of over 1,000 patrons attended the show in the past, and fully expects 1,500 this year.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. and last until 4 p.m.
