Crusader preview: Wellington has a chance to pull off its first victory of season on homecoming night
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Wellington head coach Zane Aguilar said it best at the pep rally tonight. September is over.
October is a new month and the opportunity presents itself for better things to come for the winless Crusaders. Rose Hill is 1-3 and got its first victory over Circle. If Las Vegas handicapped high school games, this one would be even.
Wellington saw Rose Hill twice last season. The Crusaders won both games convincingly 38-7 and 38-13.
The gap has narrowed quite a bit from last season. But it will be a game that Wellington most certainly can win.

Ins and outs: In case you are living under the rock, tomorrow night is the crowning of the 2019 Duchess of Wellington. With all the rain we had last week, we can all beckon to that time Jaedyn Ledesma was crowned Duchess of Wellington in 2013. That was the time a huge rainstorm came through that Friday night and the ceremony ended up being performed at 10:30 p.m. in front of practically no one. Let’s hope it stays dry this year. By the way, Juliett Hyer is the reigning Duchess of Wellington…
