Darlene Cook, 85, of Wellington: August 24, 1932 – January 20, 2018
Darlene Cook, of Wellington, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington at the age of 85.
Darlene was born the daughter of William Alfred and Ella Lillis (Tucker) Glazier on Wednesday, August 24, 1932 in Eminence, Missouri.
On January 20, 1950, Darlene and Clyde Cook were united in marriage in Wichita. Together they celebrated 68 years of marriage. Darlene loved her children and her grandchildren deeply and enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
Survivors include her husband, Clyde Cook of Wellington; son, John Cook and his wife Jayne of Wellington; daughter, Connie Kindy and her husband Clinton of Hutchinson: daughter, Nancy Karns of Wellington; sister-in-law, Marge Glazier of Wichita; sister-in-law, Kathy Easterly and her husband Ernie of Wellington; brother-in-law, Robert Montgomery of Wellington; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers.
Memorial services for Darlene will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Cornejo-Day Funeral Home in Wellington.
A private family interment will follow at a later time.
A memorial fund has been established in her loving memory to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
