David Cole

David Cole, of Argonia, died Friday, November 20, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Wellington at the age of 81.

David was born the son of Thomas and Clara D. (Hester) Cole on Friday, May 04, 1934 in Independence, Missouri.

On September 16, 1979, David and Helen (Rutledge) were united in marriage in Grandview, Missouri. Together they celebrated 36 years of marriage.

David retired after an over 30 year career as a ARMCO Steel machinist. Locally, many will remember him as the owner of the Play-Mor Pool Hall in Argonia.

Survivors include his wife Helen V. Cole of Argonia; daughter, Pamela S. Cole of Tucker, Georgia; son, Douglas Cole of Raytown, Missouri; step-daughter, Patricia L. Ford (Mark) of Parkland, Florida; step-son, Robert W. Pohlenz (Susie) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandchildren: Derek A. Ford (Katarina) of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Conor J. Ford of Parkland, Florida, Amber Cole of Raytown, Missouri and Lauren Cole of Raytown, Missouri; brother-in-law, Harold Rutledge (Judy) of Argonia; sister-in-law, Nova Searcy (Ray) of Topeka along with numerous nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2015 with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services for David will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 24th, 2015, at Friends Church, Argonia.

Interment will follow at the Argonia Cemetery, Argonia.

Memorial Funds have been established in his loving memory to the Friends Church of Argonia and Golden Living Center of Wellington. Contributions may be mailed or left with the funeral home.
