Dec. 21 KBCA poll rankings: Wellington girls rise to No. 3 in Class 4A
Sumner Newscow report — The Dec. 21 Kansas Basketball Coaches Association poll came out and Wellington girls are ranked No. 3 in the state in Clas 4A.
The Crusaders climbed three notches this week from No. 6 to No. 4 in the third poll released by the KWCA. Wellington achieved this after beating Andale which was the previous No. 3 team. In last week’s poll. Wellington was ranked below Louisburg, Andale, Paola, and Clearwater in the Dec. 14 poll – all teams that lost last week. Wamego, which is undefeated, was not ranked in the top 10 on Dec. 14 but leapfrogged Wellington to secure the No. 2 position.
Andale slipped to No. 5 while Clearwater is at No. 8 this week.
Elsewhere, there are no other Sumner County basketball teams on the list.
