Devour food truck and Regent Theater team up for a ‘Dinner and a Movie’
By Amber Countryman, Sumner Newscow – Looking for somewhere special to take your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day? Wellington’s Regent Theater and Devour food truck have teamed up for ‘Dinner and a Movie’ on Valentine’s Day.
Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. featuring Chef Mike Castaneda’s chicken fried chicken sandwiches and steak fries. Theater owner Jerry Fike will prepare a special kind of popcorn for dessert, drizzled with chocolate, caramel and sea salt. Adult beverages will be available for purchase. The movie “Hitch,” starring Will Smith, will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event are $50 and must be purchased in advance. The movie is open to the public, with tickets available at regular box office prices. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the movie.
Castaneda is a Wellington native, and moved back here in 2015 with his wife, Lindsay, after being medically discharged from the military after serving as air defense artillery for 5 ½ years. They have three children, Emery, Brady, and Roman.
Castaneda served at the joint base Lewis McCord in Washington before being sent to Fort Sill, Okla. He spent five years in the Army as a specialist and left on medical disability.

He was featured on the Food Network’s All-Star Academy cooking competition and was named one of the top ten chefs in America. At the World Food Championships, he placed sixth in dessert and 11th in seafood.
Castaneda has had the honor of cooking alongside chefs Bobby Flay, Michael Symon, Alex Guarnaschelli, Curtis Stone and Ted Allen. He has also auditioned for Shark Tank. He has been honored to cook for celebrities such as Lauren Daigle, Spencer Ware, Dante Hall, Derrick Johnson, A Day To Remember, Skillet and Thousand Foot Krutch.
Recently, Castaneda opened a food truck, Devour. He primarily operates in Wellington, but also travels to area towns.
