Doggie Dive is no more

Sumner Newscow report — The long tradition of having dogs swim at the Wellington Aquatic Center in the popularly named “Doggie Dive” is now a thing of the past.

“Say what?”

The Wellington Humane Society announced on its Facebook page that due to the new filtration system at the pool, the dogs are a no-go. Sad day on these 100+ degree days. The WHS statement is as follows:

“We’ve had several people ask about the date, so we want to make sure everyone is aware. Due to the new filtration system, we have been advised that the Doggie Dive will not be available any longer.

Thanks to those who attended in the past! We are grateful that we got to enjoy many years participating in this event. We will be busy trying to plan other events to help recoup what we normally made during this event.”
