Eight teams have already committed to 2023 Great Race… there is room for 3 more teams

Manilla Gorillas were last year’s winners of the Great Race.

Sumner Newscow report — The summer has just begun, but it is never too early to be thinking of The Great Race.

This will mark the 32nd running of the Great Race, which will be held on Saturday, July 29. As of today, there are already eight teams committed.

Green Flameouts, The Muddy Water, Impact Dashing Dukes, Manila Gorillas, Doo Dah Flying Circus, Axis of Awesome, The Security State Bank Big Bucks, and Raging Rhabdos have all committed to having Great Race teams.

Race officials are hoping for 10 teams and will take as many as 11.

The Great Race is an annual tradition uniquely Wellington. It is a relay with a 360 sprint, 3/4 mile, X-Country, motocross, 3/4 miler, horse race, racing bikes, one mile, one mile, canoe #1, canoe #2, 1/2 mile, and 360 sprint.
