Elaine Clark, community philanthropist, dies this morning
by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Sumner Newscow is sad to report that Elaine Clark, a community philanthropist, historian, teacher, newspaper columnist, book author and benevolent farmer’s wife died this morning at 11 a.m. after a bout with cancer.
On her Facebook page today her sons wrote the following message:
“This post is written by Elaine’s sons. We want you all to know that mom passed away this morning around 11:00 am. The past three weeks she has been surrounded by friends and family that have shared a lot of laughter and a lot of tears. Even though losing a loved one is difficult, mom had a chance to say her goodbyes without having to linger in pain, and for that we are thankful. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, July 11th at the Corbin United Methodist Church.”
Sumner Newscow will have a full obituary when it becomes available.
