James Foote, 67, South Haven has died as a result of 2-car accident in Wellington
by Tracy McCue and Shane Farley, Sumner Newscow — James A. Foote, 67, of South Haven, has died as a result of his injuries. He was driving the Ford Ranger, according to the Wellington Police Department.
On Saturday, May 17 at 12:50 p.m., the WPD investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of U.S. 160 Highway and Williams Drive, just north of the Wellington Walmart.
A 2007 Honda Odyssey driven by Melissa Provost, 38, of Wellington was eastbound on U.S. 160 when a 1999 Ford Ranger, driven by Foote pulled out into traffic attempting to make left turn from Williams Drive, the north-south road, adjacently east of Walmart.
Four people from the Honda Odyssey were transported from the scene by Wellington EMS to Sumner Regional Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries.Â
Foote was initially transported from the scene by Wellington EMS to SRMC and then transferred to Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
