Oxford opened with a 10-2 lead but struggled thereafter falling for the third time this season and losing its first SCBL regular season game this year. The Wildcats are 10-3 overall and 2-1 in the SCBL. Oxford head coach Kyle Green states:

“We opened the game up well defensively, but after that it was a struggle. We did not play well at all, credit to CVD which did a great job defensively of taking away our perimeter game. We were very passive off the bounce all night. They made plays in big spots and we didn’t. Our energy and effort as a team wasn’t very good tonight either. Right now, we need to fix what ails us, we have got to get back to playing our style, to being loose, defending at a high level, and taking great shots. Basketball season is a marathon with a lot of ups and downs. You have to battle through the dog days of January at times. I know with our kids, we will continue to work, we will get better, and we will have a great practice Monday. Still a lot of season left to go, we need to get back in the gym and work.”
